Robin Barton captured the 2019 Suffolk Open Footgolf Trophy with a marvellous score of 49 (9 under par). This was the same winning score as last year and was good enough to win by one from Dan Ferretti and Roman Barton who both scored 50 (8 under par). In 4th place was last year winner Darren Wheat who put up a good defence of his title.
Robin is a regular player on the ECFGT Tour and is from Cambridge FootGolf Club. He attends all the events with his two sons, Roman and Milo. Roman, who is 13, won the Suffolk Open Junior Trophy and finished 2nd in the overall event.

Footgolfer Owen Peck, who last year became UK FootGolf National Junior Tour Champion at age 16, scored a marvellous 8 under par score of 50 to take Suffolk Open title at Stonham Barns by one shot from Pele Heydon. Ian Plumb was in 3rd place with a score of 52 with Neil Donohoe and Ben Bedford tied 4th two shots further back. The Under 18 Trophy was won by Tom Scott with a very good score of 61 and the Under 15 Trophy was won by Charlie Tranter a great score of 60. The Ladies title was won by Eve Humphries.

Lee Broster, playing his first ever game of footgolf and playing barefooted, walked off with the Suffolk Open FootGolf title at Stonham Barns. Lee scored a 7 under par score of 51 to tie first place with last year’s champion Kevin Ward. A play off followed between Broster and Ward for the championship trophy. The first hole was halved in birdie twos. Then at the 105yd second hole Broster fired a killer strike to within 15 ft of the hole and then followed that with a confident putt for another birdie two after Ward had already finished the hole with a par.
Lee compiled his score with a two under par front nine and then a 5 under par back nine with 4 birdies in his last 5 holes to match the score of Kevin Ward who also has an excellent 6 under par last nine holes. Their scores of 51 were five ahead of the third place score of Chris Tranter, a regular in the Stonham Barns Footgolf events.
Lee was amazed by his own performance and is now considering entering more footgolf tournaments after chatting with runner up Kevin Ward, a regular footgolfer with tournament experience.
